Position Overview

Indiana Fitness Works Inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant. This role is crucial in supporting our Physical Therapy team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
  • Direct reporting to the supervising Physical Therapist.

Physical Requirements: The selected candidate must be capable of performing the following physical tasks, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Occasionally lift items weighing up to 10 lbs overhead.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs from the floor to waist level.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs from waist to shoulder height.
  • Occasionally assist with pivot transfers of up to 150 lbs.
  • Frequently carry items weighing up to 50 lbs over a distance of 200 ft.
  • Frequently push or pull weights of 75 lbs over a distance of 100 ft.
  • Continuously perform fine hand manipulations.
  • Maintain visual acuity of 20/20.
  • Exhibit tactile discrimination.
  • Stand for up to 2 hours at a time.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Occasionally squat, stoop, or kneel for up to 15 minutes.

Work Environment: The position involves regular exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, ionizing radiation, and various medical substances.

Key Responsibilities: (This list is not exhaustive and may include additional duties)

  • Implement treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Collaborate with the Physical Therapist and rehabilitation team regarding patient care strategies.
  • Maintain objective progress notes weekly, adhering to documentation standards.
  • Keep accurate daily attendance and time logs.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, including modality sheets and Medicare logs.
  • Oversee clerical and transport duties performed by support staff as assigned.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate the Physical Therapist's care plan to the referring physician and manage any necessary telephone orders.

Health and Safety Compliance: Candidates must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or possess a valid Medical or Religious Exemption to be considered for employment.
