Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position in our Post Acute Unit at the University of Vermont Medical Center is a great opportunity for those who have day or night commitments but still want to work hours. This role is eligible for shift differentials, with evening shifts earning $3.00 per hour and night shifts earning $5.00 per hour. Weekend shifts earn an additional $2.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform services requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill for carrying out selected aspects of the designated nursing regiment under the direction of a RN.
  • Gerontological nursing and knowledge of supervision techniques are preferred.
  • Able to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Demonstrate competence as a nursing practitioner.

About the Post Acute Unit:

The goal of the Post Acute Unit is to provide supportive, goal-directed care following surgery and/or hospitalization. Our goal is to help patients reach their highest possible level of independence. We work with a partial list of conditions including strokes, neurological conditions, orthopedic care, respiratory conditions, and cardiac and post-trauma situations.

Routine Therapy Services:

Routine therapy services are provided Monday through Friday. We also have the capability of providing therapy six days a week if that is what is required to maximize positive results.
