Job Summary

The Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to investigate the role of estrogen receptor regulation in innate immunity and urinary tract infection pathogenesis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and conduct experiments to understand the significance of membrane and nuclear estrogen receptor signaling in regulation of inflammation in the bladder and kidney during initiation of UTI.
  • Utilize molecular and immunological approaches to study the mechanisms of estrogen receptor regulation in UTI pathogenesis.
  • Collaborate with the research team to develop and implement research plans, protocols, and procedures.
  • Present research findings at local and national meetings and publish manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Assist in writing grant proposals and fellowship applications.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences or a closely related field.
  • Previous experience in flow cytometry, cell culture, bioinformatics, and confocal microscopy is highly desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be expected to work in a laboratory setting, with possible exposure to hazardous materials, hot and cold temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens.
