Position Overview

The Department of Physics & Engineering Physics at the University of Tulsa is seeking candidates for a tenure-track role at the Assistant Professor level. We welcome applications from individuals with diverse research interests. The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing a robust research agenda that garners external funding and enhances the department's standing. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to provide high-quality instruction and mentor students in both undergraduate and graduate research initiatives, as well as participate in departmental, college, and university service activities.

Academic Programs

The department offers undergraduate degrees in Physics and Engineering Physics, along with master's and doctoral programs in Physics. Our Engineering Physics program has maintained ABET accreditation since 1971.

Essential Qualifications

  • A completed doctorate in physics, engineering physics, or a closely related discipline.
  • A demonstrated history of peer-reviewed scholarly publications.
  • Exceptional communication abilities and a passion for teaching and learning.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with a diverse community of students, faculty, and staff.
Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in a postdoctoral research role or equivalent experience.
Physical Requirements

Minimal physical demands are expected for this position.
