Case Manager Job Description

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc. is seeking a skilled Case Manager to support and empower individuals in achieving their goals. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in helping clients develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the workforce.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients in meeting their Individual Service Plan (ISP) goals by monitoring behavior, tracking progress, and providing guidance on daily training schedules, actions, decision-making skills, communication skills, and completed work assignments.
  • Facilitate daily class sessions on essential characteristics of being a good worker, including job search strategies, resume writing, interviewing, job retention, career advancement, money management, organization, stress handling, and conflict resolution.
  • Complete intake paperwork for new clients and generate monthly progress reports to track individual client progress.
  • Conduct SOAP notes and case notes based on observations of clients in a classroom and hands-on training environment.
  • Train workforce development clients on daily responsibilities and hard skills in various industries, including retail, food service, customer service, janitorial, warehouse, and administrative.
  • Provide clients with referrals to community resources outside of Goodwill services and communicate with referring caseworkers/case managers to collaborate on the best action plan.
  • Maintain knowledge of curriculum task outlines and research client diagnoses to properly plan for work accommodations.
  • Individualize and vary training for non-traditional clients and attend resource fairs and events to promote Goodwill services.
  • Explore technology to create work accommodations or maximize training for individuals with disabilities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive work-related experience.
  • Ability to think critically, evaluate, and make decisions without immediate supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Good driving record and a personal vehicle.
  • Master's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or an Education field; preferred.
  • Previous work experience in workforce development, occupational skills training, case management, or a related field.
