Job Description

**About the Role**

Virginia Western Community College is seeking a qualified part-time History Adjunct Faculty member to join our team in the School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (LASS). As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching college-level courses in History to students on our main campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach History courses to students in a dynamic and engaging manner
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of our students
  • Maintain currency in your teaching discipline and stay up-to-date on trends in community college education
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve departmental goals

Requirements:

  • Must possess a Master's degree in History or a Master's degree (in any field) with at least 18 graduate semester hours in History courses
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to write syllabi and exams, develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments
  • Ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds
  • Teaching experience at the college level is preferred
  • Experience using technology in the classroom is a plus
