Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking highly qualified individuals to join our team as Adjunct Faculty in Chemistry at Virginia Western Community College. As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching college-level courses in Chemistry, maintaining currency in your teaching disciplines, and participating in departmental communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach college-level courses in Chemistry, including lectures and labs
  • Maintain currency in teaching disciplines and trends in community college education
  • Participate in departmental communication and contribute to the development of curriculum and assessments
  • Develop and implement learning strategies to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and backgrounds

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Chemistry or a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Chemistry courses
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to write syllabi and exams, develop learning strategies, and assess student performance
  • Ability to work with students of varying abilities and backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in Chemistry
  • Teaching experience at the college level
