Chemours Field Safety Technician Job Description

Chemours is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Safety Technician to join our Operations team. This role will report directly to the Site Safety Manager at our Louisville, KY location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance on safety protocols and procedures for high-hazard chemical operations
  • Interface with site employees, corporate resources, regulatory agencies, and unit operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Develop and implement safety programs and procedures to improve site functional capabilities
  • Conduct safety audits and investigations to identify areas for improvement
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on safety elements such as Lock, Tag, and Try, Confined Space Entry, and Fall Protection
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 5+ years of work experience in a safety or occupational health related field or Bachelor's degree in an EHS or engineering oriented discipline
  • Knowledge of high-hazard chemical or process safety management regulated facilities
  • Industrial manufacturing knowledge and experience
  • Sound technical and regulatory-based safety and process safety management knowledge
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience leading EHS improvement in complex, chemical or high-hazard operations
  • Current professional certification (e.g. PE, CHMM, CSP, CPP)
