Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Specialist to join our team at LPX Group. As a key member of our Environmental Health and Safety Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Environmental Health and Safety Program that meets or exceeds regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular job site visits, inspections, and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, and develop recommendations for improving safety procedures and protocols.
- Develop and administer annual and continuous EHS training programs for employees.
- Monitor and maintain all safety-related documentation, including incident reports, safety audits, and training records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Develop and implement safety recognition programs to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a safety-related role, with a strong background in regulatory compliance and risk management.
- OSHA 30 Training and CHST or STS-C Designation from BCSP.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Prior experience in health and safety or a related field.
- Internal auditing experience.
- Knowledge of construction projects and OSHA Standard 1926.
