Gateway Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated Support Technician for Treatment Services. This role is essential in facilitating therapeutic programs and ensuring a supportive environment for individuals in recovery. The position involves regular guidance and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitates group discussions and therapeutic activities.
- Observes and monitors client behavior.
- Conducts orientation sessions for new clients.
- Performs searches of client belongings and personal items as required.
- Acts as a communication bridge between clinical staff and clients.
- Assists clients in completing assessment documentation.
- Supports communication with family members and referral sources.
- Provides assistance during crisis situations.
- Records interactions with clients in progress notes.
- Collects samples for drug testing and manages related paperwork.
- Facilitates post-discharge referrals under the guidance of therapists.
- Monitors medication adherence and documents as necessary.
- May assist in the gift shop operations, if applicable.
- Oversees menu planning and nutritional needs, if relevant.
- Handles donations and client requests, as applicable.
- Supervises smoke breaks within the facility, if necessary.
- Completes intake documentation as required.
- Monitors clients' daily living activities, including chores and personal care.
- Remains on duty until relieved by another staff member.
- Participates in mandatory training and in-service sessions.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Familiarity with recovery support systems and addiction treatment preferred.
- Commitment to ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively.
- Capacity to listen to clients with empathy and without judgment.
- Demonstrated understanding and compassion towards clients.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college education is preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Successful completion of a background check.
- Obtaining necessary clearances for child abuse and fingerprinting.
- Completion of CPR and First Aid training.
- Passing a drug screening.
- Undergoing TB testing.
- This role requires mandatory staffing coverage to ensure a safe environment for clients.
- Must remain alert and attentive while on duty.
- If in recovery, must have a minimum of 18 months of sobriety from substance use disorders.

- Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center.

- Minimal physical demands.
- Moderate mental demands to address simultaneous client requests.
