Procurement Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the purchasing process, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining optimal inventory levels to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet company objectives for cost savings, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Procure supplies and equipment in alignment with sales and operational needs.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
  • Issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure products and services are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluations and manage contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies in all purchasing activities.
  • Oversee inventory planning and control to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Monitor and manage inventory turnover to minimize excess stock and reduce obsolescence.
  • Analyze inventory data to forecast demand and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Develop and enforce policies for proper storage, handling, and movement of inventory.
  • Supervise and lead the purchasing and warehouse teams.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain operations, with at least 1 year in a managerial role.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Extremely well organized, detailed-oriented, results driven, and highly self-motivated.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and provide solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Purchasing.
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • 1-3 years of experience in the technology industry.
