Job Title: On-Call Youth Development Professional

Division: Operations

Location: Varies

Status: On-call

Approximate Hours: School Year: (Primarily After School; 2:00pm-6:30pm M-Fri)

Base Pay: $20.00 / Hour

Job Summary

Our Club staff members are dedicated professionals who provide a safe and supportive environment for youth to grow and develop. As an On-Call Youth Development Professional, you will be responsible for developing and implementing fun and engaging programming that promotes positive youth development, empowerment, and drives youth outcomes across the spectrums of academic achievement, good character & citizenship, and health and wellness.

Responsibilities
  • Promote and stimulate program participation.
  • Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
  • Maintain a safe, positive atmosphere for all youth.
  • Exhibit a warm, professional attitude toward youth that uses a positive approach in dealing with individuals as well as groups of children.
  • Effectively plan and lead programs, services, and a variety of activities for members.
  • Effectively communicate with staff and with children of all ages being an active positive team member.
  • Complete program planners in a timely manner including new, fun, and inviting program ideas for the designated area(s).
Requirements
  • Desire and ability to work with children.
  • Ability to accept supervision and guidance.
  • Good character, integrity, and adaptability.
  • Enthusiasm, good judgment, patience, and self-control.
  • Must participate in required trainings by the Club, County, State, and/or funders.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test that includes screening for marijuana, criminal, and driving records investigations, and reference checks.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy.
  • Good verbal and communications skills.
  • Be adaptable and be flexible to changes.
  • The successful candidate will primarily work indoors. Accordingly, the ability to use a variety of equipment including janitorial and office equipment is required.
  • The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25 lbs.
  • Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion.
  • Be able to maintain a high level of energy.
  • Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Spanish speaker.
  • More than one year of experience working with youth.
  • Teaching certificate or background in education.
