Teen Specialist Job Description

At Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teen Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in engaging youth ages 13-18 years old and supporting their growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging activities and programs for teens, including field trips, cultural events, and civic engagement projects.
  • Build positive relationships with teen members and ensure their safety and engagement in activities.
  • Collaborate with the College Bound Case Manager to increase teen participation in programming and connect with the college-bound team.
  • Design and implement emotionally intelligent and age-appropriate programming that allows teens to explore, be creative, and try new things.
  • Track relevant grant-specific data and case notes as needed.
  • Provide teens with clear steps and tools to support goal achievement and healthy decision-making.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience working in the youth development field with older youth or teens, and experience with case management.
  • Ability to design and implement age-specific programming and curriculum.
  • Good character, integrity, and adaptability, with the ability to lead with good judgment and set healthy boundaries.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and communities, and the ability to build an inclusive environment for teens.
  • Knowledge of and ability to establish relationships within the Santa Monica and L.A. nonprofit community, local school districts, colleges, and universities.
