Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Program Tutor to join our team at Community Corporation of Santa Monica. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the academic and personal development of youth aged 6-18 in our after-school program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging and educational activities that promote academic success and enrichment for youth.
  • Provide daily homework support and guidance to ensure youth meet their academic goals.
  • Collaborate with Youth Specialists to plan and deliver program activities that promote social and emotional development.
  • Supervise and engage with up to 20 youth per site, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Communicate effectively with Youth Specialists, Resident Manager, and Director of Resident Services to ensure seamless program delivery.
  • Document critical incidents and maintain accurate records of youth progress.
  • Participate in outreach efforts to promote program opportunities to resident youth and families.
Requirements
  • Completion of post-secondary education (community college or 4-year university) or equivalent experience.
  • Direct experience working with youth in an after-school or similar setting.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to handle and address conflict and resolve youth needs.
  • Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Google Documents and Zoom.
Working Conditions

The Youth Program Tutor will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, coordinating services for youth throughout the Community Corp. affordable housing portfolio. The successful candidate will be required to support youth residents at various properties, with 4 sites as the current program focus.
