Patient Care Technician II

As a Patient Care Technician II at Memorial Healthcare, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care under the direct supervision of registered nurses. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, as well as providing personal care and performing routine treatments and specimen collections. You will also be responsible for documenting patient interventions in electronic medical records and maintaining a safe environment by cleaning equipment and reporting any issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
- Provide personal care, including hygiene, ambulation, and ADLs, as assigned by registered nurses.
- Perform routine treatments and specimen collections, following established protocols and procedures.
- Document patient interventions in electronic medical records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Maintain a safe environment by cleaning equipment, reporting any issues, and preparing equipment for disinfection.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Ability to perform simple math functions and read and understand transcribed physician's orders, vital signs, and other information on patient's/resident's chart.
- Two years of experience as a CNA or EMT required.
