We are seeking a highly skilled Refrigeration Engineer to join our team at Dennis Group Springfield. As a Refrigeration Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing mechanical refrigeration systems for industrial food and beverage production facilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop refrigeration systems for cold storage, production, and product cooling
- Lead mechanical system design development and coordinate with internal and external team members
- Develop refrigeration and related utility equipment and construction specifications
- Sizing and developing layouts for ammonia and glycol piping plans
- Specify equipment and select suitable options
- Conduct bid reviews and cost estimating
- Develop project documents, including calculations, reports, and construction drawings and specifications
- Perform construction administration, including submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field visits
- Review and update design standards and details
- Ensure building code compliance and review
- Provide field support and lead commissioning activities
- Research refrigeration and utility materials and best practices
- Support talent growth within the organization
- Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- 4-7 years of demonstrated refrigeration and utilities experience, preferably in food and beverage, pharmaceutical, or other sanitary environments
- 4-7 years of Refrigeration and/or Utilities design experience
- 4-7 years of industrial refrigeration system for cold storage experience
- 4-7 years of experience working with computer operations for engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
- Travel to customer project sites for review, audit, and meetings, estimated 10-25%
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, a team-oriented can-do attitude, and an ability to work and manage projects independently
