Position Overview:
The Strategic Business Consultant will collaborate closely with MVM's corporate staff, program leaders, and stakeholders to devise strategies aimed at enhancing business operations, formulating cost-benefit analysis recommendations, and facilitating the implementation of improvements across various functions. This role is remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a vital team member promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the organization.
- Engage with business managers and decision-makers through interviews, observations, and structured workshops to uncover opportunities for process enhancements.
- Participate in strategic discussions to assess, analyze, and propose innovative business solutions that enhance operations, contract performance, business value, and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct program evaluations, root cause assessments, gap analyses, and process mapping to optimize workflows and address inefficiencies.
- Execute cost-benefit analysis initiatives to pinpoint cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational excellence and customer service standards.
- Oversee the assessment of business needs for new technologies and systems; advocate for the advantages of new technologies or strategies to internal and external stakeholders.
- Utilize effective problem-solving methodologies to assist management teams in identifying and implementing solutions to operational challenges.
- Support the organization in refining or establishing "best practices" and collaborate with business managers to ensure policies, processes, and procedures are current and aligned.
- Monitor task completion and project timelines, assisting executives in documenting and communicating program performance.
- Conduct risk assessments related to processes and tasks within the organization.
- Coordinate with various departmental teams to enhance business operations, streamline processes, and create effective implementation plans for change initiatives.
- A bachelor's degree in business, finance, change management, project management, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in roles such as business analyst, technical writer, project manager, or similar.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders, actively listen, and collaborate closely with program owners to develop viable solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with various departments, employees, management levels, and clients.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Proficient documentation and technical writing skills.
- Experience in creating comprehensive reports and delivering presentations.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook; familiarity with Visio is preferred.
- Knowledge of analytical reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Understanding of technology and its application in process improvement and problem-solving.
- Self-motivated with strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to produce high-quality deliverables with meticulous attention to detail.
- Preferred experience with government contracts.
- Desirable certifications include Lean Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP), ITIL, or similar.
- Selected applicants will undergo a government background investigation and may need to meet specific employment conditions.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
- Favorable credit check for all cleared positions.
- Successful completion of a background investigation and drug screening.
- Must be a US Citizen.
This position requires mobility to attend meetings with other managers and employees.
Traveling: 10% - 20%
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 0% - 10% of the time.
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 0% - 10% of the time, must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Fine Motor Skills/Dexterity: Must be able to write, type, and use a telephone system 100% of the time.
Sitting: Prolonged sitting is required.
