Internship Overview

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to support the Volunteer and Intern Programs Coordinator in managing the volunteer and intern programs and engaging the community in support of our programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process incoming volunteer/intern applications and conduct phone interviews
  • Work with IRC staff to identify volunteer/intern needs and develop materials for staff to train and manage volunteers
  • Assist in representing IRC Denver at recruitment events and provide support for volunteers and interns
  • Help to manage community contacts and partnerships, days of services, and volunteer events
  • Present new volunteer/intern orientations

Learning Objectives

The Volunteer Program Intern will have the opportunity to learn about the Refugee Admissions Program and how services are delivered to refugees in Colorado. They will gain knowledge about managing a large volunteer and intern program, including recruitment, training, and ongoing support.

Qualifications

Undergraduate, graduate, or recently graduated student in an institution of higher learning with strong writing and communication skills, experience speaking and presenting to groups, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
