Job Summary

Brown University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dean's Coordinator for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to join our team. This is a part-time position at 25.5 hours per week and is benefits eligible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level coordination of the Dean's activities for the School of Engineering, serving as the central liaison between the Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and faculty, students, staff, and other internal and external constituents.
  • Manage numerous administrative functions, including managing the Associate Dean's special projects, events, meetings, agendas, committee arrangements, and other initiatives.
  • Plan, staff, and support events sponsored by the Dean's office in support of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, utilizing advanced interpersonal skills for interacting with a wide range of stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 1 to 2 years' experience or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
  • Prior executive-level project management or administrative experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills.
  • Proven track record of taking initiative and using sound judgment to independently problem solve and prioritize workload in a multi-task environment while maintaining careful attention to detail.
  • Experience with processing invoices, purchasing, travel expense reports, expense tracking, and other financial transactions a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management: Advanced ability to simultaneously manage multiple high-impact projects preferred.
  • Organization: Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills.
  • Communication: Effective interpersonal communicator with ability to engage with diverse groups, including impactful donors and C-suite executives.
  • Analysis & Research: Detail-oriented, with strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
  • Team Player: Ability to work independently and interdependently with diverse teams.
  • Technology: Experience with computerized systems (i.e. Google Suite, Microsoft Office software, etc.) and continued interest in maintaining skills.
