Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Manager is a key member of the hotel team, responsible for assisting the Director of Human Resources with various HR functions. This includes recruitment, labor relations, benefits administration, and employee relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in labor relations matters, including conducting meetings with staff and union representatives.
  • Recruit high-volume staff for the opening year, ensuring timely and accurate completion of paperwork.
  • Administer insurance benefits, calculate billing totals, and explain benefits to employees.
  • Compile review lists and distribute them to departments, as well as compile turnover reports and distribute them accordingly.
  • Enter payroll information, conduct prescreening interviews, and respond to unemployment claims.
  • Maintain new hire, termination, transfer, and promotion logbooks, as well as audit hours worked in payroll reports for eligibility of benefits.
  • Compile wage surveys, monitor and maintain Leave of Absence logs, and monitor Workman's Compensation claims.
  • Answer questions regarding the 401K Plan, vacation, and benefits, and maintain complimentary room night logs.
  • Prepare and place recruitment advertising, process paperwork for terminating employees, and schedule orientations.
  • Assist in orientations, explain benefits, and conduct tours of the property.
  • Write articles and take pictures for the property newsletter, and assist with special projects, including planning employee events.
  • Maintain First Aid logs and have previous supervisory responsibility.

Requirements:

  • A 4-year college degree.
  • At least 3 years of progressive Human Resources Management experience in a hotel or related industry.
  • Recruitment experience in the hospitality field is required, as well as experience in a union environment, preferably Local 26.
  • Previous supervisory responsibility is required, and opening hotel experience is preferred.
  • College coursework in a related field is helpful, and familiarity with and knowledge of employment laws are beneficial.

Working Conditions:

This role requires long hours, sedentary work, and the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
