Overview: Join our dedicated healthcare team as a full-time Patient Registration Coordinator. We are looking for individuals who are committed to providing patients with a smooth experience by managing imaging authorizations, verifying insurance eligibility, explaining benefits, and facilitating pre-registration processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Authorization Management:
    • Oversee and streamline the authorization process for scheduled imaging procedures, collaborating with insurance companies to secure necessary approvals promptly.
    • Maintain thorough and accurate records of all authorization activities in line with industry regulations and company policies.
  2. Insurance Verification:
    • Confirm patients' insurance eligibility and benefits to ensure accurate coverage determination for imaging services.
    • Clearly communicate patients' insurance benefits, including coverage specifics and potential out-of-pocket expenses, to empower informed healthcare decisions.
  3. Patient Support:
    • Provide education to patients regarding how their benefits apply to upcoming imaging services, clarifying their financial responsibilities and any possible costs.
    • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns related to authorizations and insurance matters.
  4. Pre-Registration Duties:
    • Assist in the pre-registration process, ensuring the accurate collection and entry of patient data into the electronic health record system.
    • Work collaboratively with administrative teams to enhance the pre-registration experience and improve patient satisfaction.
  5. Team Collaboration:
    • Partner with healthcare professionals, radiology teams, and administrative staff to coordinate and communicate essential authorization details and patient information.
    • Maintain effective communication with insurance providers to expedite authorization processes and resolve any issues swiftly.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in patient intake, authorizations, or scheduling roles.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant experience in healthcare administration is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in medical authorization processing, especially in imaging, is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of insurance verification, benefits explanation, and patient liability assessment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information for patients.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems is preferred.
