Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Ervin Industries. The successful candidate will work closely with our Engineering Department to enhance production equipment, plan and implement capital projects, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of plant production equipment and power systems.
  • Update and create electrical drawings and schematics to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain compliance with electrical rules and regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.
  • Plan, budget, and prepare new control equipment installations to optimize production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with IT and outside vendors to program PLCs and application software.
  • Assist cross-functional teams with safety, production, quality, and environmental standards, including implementation and enforcement of plant safety, quality, and environmental manuals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience with motor control systems, including D.C. motors, A.C. motors, and VFD controls.
  • Familiarity with 3-phase electrical circuits.
  • Experience with Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) control systems.
  • PLC programming, installation, and troubleshooting experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD and Microsoft platforms.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 and 14001 Management Systems is desired.
  • Experience with occupational safety and health compliance.
