About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical and Electrical Technician to join our team at Integrated Power Services (IPS). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of industrial electric motors, generators, and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply innovative and analytical skills to diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical issues
  • Operate manual machining tools, including engine lathes, milling machines, and grinders
  • Provide mechanical services on electric motor repairs and rebuild electrical power products
  • Participate in daily operations discussions on customer products
  • Organize workspace and follow shop flow structures and services
  • Train on specific areas identified by the Repair Manager
  • Perform mechanical rebuilds on rotating apparatus repairs like electric motors, pumps, and fans
  • Communicate with Customer Service reps and Manager on parts required for the job
  • Ensure proper procedures and standards follow CSA, ISO, EASA, and IPS Standard of Work (SOW) requirements
  • Participate in CIPS culture, including the use of UCE 1 & 4 boards
  • Responsible for following Work plans, OPS scheduling, and time estimates to the work operation
  • Work with other technicians to meet a common goal in larger repairs and customer expectations
  • Ensure the safety of yourself and your co-workers, understanding the safety hazards of a job
  • Be available to work overtime when requested
  • Assist in some Field service work installing motors, fans, and other items of a mechanical nature
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Strong technical background with electrical and/or mechanical products, prefer experience in mechanical jobs and/or Millwright/Machinist certifications
  • Organized with daily tasks
  • Good communication skills and ability to communicate with other staff members about the jobs being performed
  • Own basic tools to perform the work, specialized tools provided by the company
  • Ability to work full-time Monday through Friday and sometimes weekends, if required
