Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Buildings team as a Senior Electrical Engineer/Project Designer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the evaluation, selection, specification, and engineering of electrical power, lighting, fire alarm, and other low-voltage systems for projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of electrical design documentation using Revit and AutoCAD, and provide direction to junior staff.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff to develop their technical skills and abilities.
- Collaborate with other building disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
- Perform advanced calculations of building elements and electrical systems using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
- Lead the engineering construction administration duties on projects, including review of shop drawings and submittals.
- Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating exercises.
- Apply technical expertise to lead cross-functional resources to meet project requirements within established timeframes and budget.
- Provide client consultation and nurture existing client relationships.
- Act as a resource for staff to all levels in any area of technical expertise.
- Thorough understanding of electrical engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of power distribution systems, lighting systems, and low-voltage systems for the built environment.
- Experience in the construction industry and/or in-depth knowledge of construction processes, including construction administration roles.
- Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
- Ability to apply sustainable design principles within projects.
- Ability to integrate design elements with other disciplines.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as NFPA Standards, International Building Codes, and Applicable Energy Codes.
- Strong client communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to participate on multiple overlapping projects and design teams while maintaining project execution and schedule.
