Position Overview:
The Event Services Supervisor is primarily tasked with overseeing the Front of House Food and Beverage operations. This role involves supervising, coaching, guiding, training, and mentoring team members to uphold the company's quality standards.


The Event Services Supervisor is accountable for directing the daily activities of the front of house Food and Beverage department in alignment with our policies and objectives, ensuring guest satisfaction, and fostering a positive, productive, and compliant work environment.

This position entails effective management and operation of the banquet team, including close collaboration with the Catering and Concession Manager. Responsibilities include event planning support, scheduling, room setup and breakdown, adherence to food handling policies, safety protocols, employee training, supervision, and any additional tasks assigned by the Catering and Concession Manager.

The Event Services Supervisor must deliver a high level of oversight and operational support to guarantee the seamless execution of all assigned events, with meticulous planning in advance.


Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all facets of effective food service management within designated areas or departments.

Manage and coordinate all banquet operations before, during, and after events.

Responsibilities include completing banquet planning documentation in collaboration with the Executive Chef, ordering supplies, reviewing setups, food and beverage preparation, service, staff scheduling, employee check-in, equipment inspections, POS monitoring and troubleshooting, training, food production, cleanup, reporting, and any other duties as assigned by the Catering and Concession Manager.

Ensure full compliance with all alcohol service regulations. Monitor alcohol service throughout events to guarantee 100% adherence to policies. Report any compliance issues to management immediately.


Conduct regular physical inventories of food and beverage supplies, assess projected needs, update current pricing of inventory, and enter month-end inventory data.


Collaborate with the Catering and Concession Manager as necessary to ensure clarity on BEO requirements, ensuring all events are executed according to BEO guidelines; work closely with the Catering and Concession Manager to manage changes and updates to BEO for optimal service, quality, and hospitality.

Ensure staff is briefed on event requirements and assigned to specific areas prior to events.


Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout all food and beverage areas at all times.

Enforce all Oak View Group and venue policies and procedures related to guest satisfaction, quality standards, uniform policy, cash handling, operational procedures, and quality presentation.


Assist in the ongoing training, development, mentoring, and supervision of hourly employees, as directed by the Catering and Concession Manager; responsible for documenting employee performance and attendance issues in accordance with company policy.


Assist in managing catered events from setup to teardown, including handling all communication with hourly staff, culinary teams, and guests.

Generate employee schedules and verify employee time as required, in addition to preparing payroll and gratuity reports.

Ensure full compliance with state and federal labor laws, sanitation, food-related ordinances, and alcohol regulations.

Perform all other duties as required.

Qualifications:
Preferred 2+ years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prior experience in hospitality, particularly in catering sales/conference services and/or banquets, is essential.

Knowledge of revenue management, training, and peer motivation is advantageous.

Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.

Valid Food Handler's certificate if required by state and/or county regulations.

Familiarity with inventory cost control and menu planning.

Basic Computer Skills:
E-mail, Excel, Word, Outlook

Working knowledge of Point of Sale and timekeeping systems.

Cash handling abilities; basic math skills including significant number manipulation.


Ability to work a flexible schedule (including daytime, evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours as needed), depending on event and business requirements.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Knowledge of principles and techniques used in advancing, planning, coordinating, and servicing a variety of wedding, social, and corporate events.

Ability to work effectively with co-workers, clients, event planners, and various groups in a professional manner.

Ability to direct the work of vendors and setup personnel during events

Proficient in speaking and writing using proper English and grammar.

Advance planning including staffing, rental needs, pull lists, timelines, diagrams, descriptors, and post-event recap reports.
