Position Summary

The Culinary Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences through the preparation of high-quality menu items. This role requires adherence to health and safety regulations while fostering a collaborative environment within the Rock City Gardens Food team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding service to both internal and external customers, aligning with the organization's mission and values.
  • Exhibit exemplary guest and partner interactions, embodying the culture of excellence.
  • Prepare and cook food according to established menu specifications and quality standards.
  • Monitor portion sizes and manage waste to ensure efficiency.
  • Regularly check and document temperatures for refrigeration units.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace.
  • Collaborate with team members to uphold kitchen cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist in managing inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Adhere to health codes and safety standards to achieve high health inspection scores.
  • Follow company policies to create a positive work environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in food service, with a willingness to undergo training.
  • Willingness to obtain Serve Safe certification.
  • Possess a friendly demeanor and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both individual and small group settings.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding recipes and operational documents.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Basic math skills for handling measurements and financial transactions.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as required.
  • Physical capability to lift and move up to 30 pounds and to stand for extended periods.
