Job Summary

The Property Accounting Intern will work with our Property Accounting Team Lead and other team members in our Cincinnati, OH office. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of accounting systems, the monthly accounting close process, and reporting cycle.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in various month-end close functional team duties, including reviewing rent charges for accuracy and ensuring contract services are billed automatically based on contracts with vendors.
  • Perform various special projects throughout the month, such as reviewing invoices for accuracy of capitalization requirements and assisting in common area maintenance (CAM) reconciliations for over 300 properties.
What You'll Learn
  • Develop techniques to reconcile accounting on the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
  • Develop skills required to interact with other professionals at varying levels throughout the company.
  • Develop time management skills and the ability to be responsible for more than one project at a time.
Requirements
  • A current undergraduate student enrolled in a degree-seeking program studying Accounting or another business-related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, with direction and guidance, and on a team (as needed).
  • Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to balance multiple priorities at once.
