Position Summary:
The Sales Manager is accountable for meeting and exceeding store sales targets through outstanding customer service and in-depth knowledge of La-Z-Boy products and services. This role focuses on cultivating long-term customer relationships that drive sales growth and profitability while leading the sales team to fulfill operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities:


Sales Leadership:
  • Achieve and surpass store sales goals by actively engaging in selling La-Z-Boy furniture, accessories, and services.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager and design team to promote the In-Home Design Sales program.
  • Maximize store promotions and marketing initiatives to enhance sales performance.
  • Recruit, train, and retain a high-performing sales team that embodies enthusiasm and energy.
  • Coach the team in alignment with the company’s selling model to drive effective sales behaviors.
  • Create a culture of empowerment that encourages the team to deliver exceptional customer service.

Team Development:
  • Provide training and coaching to the sales team on product knowledge and effective selling techniques.
  • Foster a positive and motivating work environment for all associates.
  • Focus on talent acquisition and development, ensuring succession planning is in place.
  • Utilize company resources to keep the team informed on product knowledge and operational efficiencies.
  • Lead with integrity and uphold the highest ethical standards.

Operational Standards:
  • Act as a role model for the La-Z-Boy selling process, ensuring every customer interaction is exemplary.
  • Maintain awareness of store activities and be ready to assist in closing sales.
  • Exhibit urgency and enthusiasm in interactions with both staff and customers.

Customer Experience:
  • Set the benchmark for customer care and ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Utilize strong product knowledge and customer service skills to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Make informed business decisions that promote a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
  • Three to five years of sales experience with a proven track record is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work flexible hours as needed.
