Position Summary:
The Sales Manager is pivotal in driving store sales performance by delivering outstanding customer service and leveraging extensive knowledge of La-Z-Boy's offerings. This role focuses on fostering enduring customer relationships that contribute to sales growth and profitability. The Sales Manager will lead the sales team to meet sales targets, uphold store standards, and execute operational duties essential for a premier retail experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership and Strategy:
  • Achieve store sales objectives through direct engagement in selling La-Z-Boy's furniture and accessories.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager and design team to promote the In-Home Design Sales initiative.
  • Maximize the effectiveness of store promotions and marketing strategies.
  • Recruit, train, and retain a high-performing sales team that embodies enthusiasm and energy.
  • Provide coaching aligned with the Company’s sales model to drive actionable results.
  • Utilize performance metrics to guide team behaviors toward achieving a world-class sales environment.

Team Development:
  • Train and mentor the sales team on product knowledge and effective selling techniques.
  • Foster a positive and dynamic workplace culture for all associates.
  • Focus on talent acquisition, development, and succession planning.
  • Leverage Company resources to keep the team informed on product updates and operational best practices.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards and ensure compliance within the team.
  • Equip associates with the necessary tools to fulfill their roles effectively.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Operational Excellence:
  • Serve as an effective Manager on Duty, exemplifying the La-Z-Boy selling process.
  • Maintain awareness of store activities and engage in sales opportunities as they arise.
  • Exhibit urgency and enthusiasm in interactions with both staff and customers.
  • Adhere to operational guidelines and complete all assigned tasks from the Store Manager.
  • Ensure accurate order processing, customer record management, and payment tracking.
  • Oversee store opening and closing procedures, maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards.

Customer Experience:
  • Set exemplary standards for customer service.
  • Ensure each customer enjoys a positive and informative experience through effective communication and product knowledge.
  • Make informed business decisions that enhance customer satisfaction and foster teamwork.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of sales experience with a proven success record preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative in achieving goals and objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication and rapport building.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
  • Flexibility to work hours as dictated by business needs, including evenings and weekends.
