Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer within the US Risk Technology division, you will act as a technological collaborator for the US risk management sector. Your role will involve engaging in complex projects, transitioning ETL processes from Talend to DataBricks, developing workflow automation solutions via Microsoft Power Platform, managing data flows with Azure data lake storage, and establishing a DevOps environment. This position provides comprehensive exposure to the entire software development lifecycle, encompassing development, testing, and support.

This is a hybrid role that necessitates a minimum of two days per week of on-site engagement.

Success Factors

  • Technical Proficiency – Bridge the gap between business challenges and technological solutions with a cloud-centric approach. Utilize tools such as SQL, DataBricks, Talend, Python, Microsoft Power Platform, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Cloud Expertise – Leverage the full spectrum of Microsoft Azure Services, with experience in machine learning being advantageous. Azure Certifications (AZ-204) are a plus.
  • Documentation Skills – Be adept at documenting each phase of the software delivery lifecycle using wikis and our change management platform, ServiceNow.
  • DevSecOps Awareness – Write secure code adhering to industry best practices and integrate DevSecOps principles into your workflow.
  • Effective Communication – Articulate technical concepts clearly and precisely to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative Spirit – Foster trusted relationships with business stakeholders, technology partners, and external vendors.
  • Business Acumen – Utilize knowledge of banking and risk management to ensure alignment between business goals and software requirements.
  • Commitment to Learning – Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry changes, and regulatory updates.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience – A minimum of two years in a technical capacity, complemented by a relevant post-secondary degree. Experience with databases, cloud computing, or application development/support is particularly relevant.
  • Programming Skills – Proficiency in Python with the ability to write scripts, test, and deploy code.
  • SQL Proficiency – Comfortable writing SQL queries and familiar with an additional programming language. Experience with Microsoft Azure and Power Platform is beneficial.
  • Desirable Skills – Familiarity with DataBricks, automated testing, JIRA, ServiceNow, Git, and CI/CD pipelines is advantageous.
  • Banking Knowledge – Understanding of banking fundamentals, including risk management, capital stress testing, credit risk models, and regulatory compliance.
