Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Transportation Specialist to join our team at gategroup. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of our transportation services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze data from custom computer screens to prepare driver run sheets for each flight
  • Assign drivers to gates and flights, ensuring efficient use of resources
  • Serve as the quality assurance specialist, ensuring that contents of coolers and meals meet customer specifications
  • Monitor driver's kitchen departure time and track all flight, gate, meal order, and other changes in flights
  • Serve as backup supervisor when the primary supervisor is on the ramp, relaying changes in flights to drivers and directing workflow
  • Check driver run sheets for accuracy and ensure that all times, aircraft changes, service levels, and quantities meet customer specifications
  • Answer and log customer calls, concerns, and complaints, making recommendations to resolve ongoing issues
Requirements
  • H.S. diploma required; Associate's degree preferred
  • 2+ years of general work experience in an office or warehouse facility
  • 1 year of experience directing the work of others
  • 1-2 years of shipping/receiving experience preferred
Technical Skills
  • Able to drive on the ramp (must be 21+ driver's license)
  • Able to multi-task in a hectic environment
  • Detail-oriented
  • Able to keep calm in high-pressure environments
  • Able to work with a minimum of supervision/off-site environment
  • Able to make independent decisions
  • Able to compile data from multiple sources with a high degree of accuracy
  • Able to communicate status changes to all parties in a timely manner
Language and Communication Skills
  • Able to develop rapport with major clients
Work Environment and Requirements
  • Must be able to function in a warehouse environment
  • May be required to rotate between day and night shifts
