We are currently in search of a Quality Assurance Coordinator to enhance our Lansing operations.

In this role, reporting to the Multi-Market Quality & EHS Manager, you will be responsible for supporting all activities related to ensuring the quality of our products from order placement to delivery, including routine inspections to meet customer specifications.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Multi-Market Quality Manager to enhance local and regional processes.
  • Manage the implementation and auditing of the ISO 9000 series of Quality Management Systems in designated locations.
  • Oversee training programs to ensure compliance with EHS and ISO standards.
  • Conduct quality inspections on customer orders to verify adherence to requirements and evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Supervise calibration of measurement devices and equipment, maintaining primary and master standards.
  • Assist in the Customer Claims process to ensure timely resolution and verification of rejected materials.
  • Complete Production Part Approval Processes (PPAPs) and First Article Inspections, interpreting part drawings and documenting results according to AIAG methodologies and customer specifications.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions as determined by the assigned team to maintain customer satisfaction, utilizing quality tools for root cause analysis.
  • Collect Statistical Process Control (SPC) data on key processing equipment as needed.
  • Develop continuous improvement processes in quality to better serve our clientele.
  • Represent Ryerson during customer visits as required.
  • Champion Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives in collaboration with facility operations management.
  • Prepare monthly Quality and EHS reports to support management reviews and improvement efforts.
  • Maintain an actionable item list to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably within the metals sector.
  • Familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
  • Experience in blueprint reading is beneficial.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong background in report generation and data manipulation using database applications.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
