Position Overview:

The Lead Quality Assurance Engineer is tasked with overseeing the internal operations of Mapvision systems, which includes programming and implementing necessary modifications to guarantee optimal functionality.

This role ensures that Mapvision systems are operated in alignment with the GD&T specifications pertinent to each component.

Essential Qualifications:
Proficient in the use of Mapvision technology and software.
Experienced in computer networking for effective troubleshooting.
Skilled in programming and knowledgeable about Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
Experienced in Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Comprehensive understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and dimensional schematics, including the ability to read and interpret geometric dimensioning, tolerancing, and Datum/Alignment principles.

Strong grasp of measuring equipment functionality, encompassing CMM, checking fixtures, and scanning devices.
Adept at leading dimensional issue resolution and conducting root cause analysis.
Familiar with quality management systems, including ISO, IATF standards, and AIAG core tools.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Windows operating systems.
Effective communicator with MRE plants and assembly integrator suppliers, providing direction and follow-up for both new and existing Mapvision systems.
Capable of working independently to achieve daily objectives and planned targets.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with Spanish proficiency being a plus but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:
Willingness to learn Mapvision programming and networking to effectively support various plants. Proficient in diagnosing and identifying root causes of daily challenges related to vision quality systems in plant operations, as programming will be essential on a weekly basis.
Conduct and, when necessary, lead capability studies and gauge R & R analysis improvements.
Ensure effective time management in the completion of all assigned projects and responsibilities.
Create quality documentation in accordance with the company's quality system manual and standards.

Knowledgeable in computer hardware, including network switches, cameras, and PC components, to effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues within Mapvision systems.

Review and recommend actions for non-conforming or suspect products promptly, ensuring formal corrective actions align with customer guidelines.
Review project-related documentation for accuracy.

Contribute to successful project outcomes by engaging in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements, safety concerns, material unsuitability, and complex coordination needs from design to implementation.

Ensure all components are finalized before systems are fully integrated into automotive production lines.
Responsible for conducting root cause analysis, SPC data analysis, and maintaining up-to-date documentation related to APQP processes.
Participate in and coordinate Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
Engage in and coordinate Team-Oriented Problem Solving (corrective and preventive actions).
Oversee and ensure timely PPAP submissions.
Coordinate project activities with personnel from other departments to facilitate appropriate staff involvement in project completion.
Travel as necessary to various plants across the Americas and Europe, with an average of 75% travel per year.
