- Seek competitive pricing of materials and services sourced in accordance with MHI Procurement Procedures and procurement specifications.
- Create purchase orders in MHI Procurement system to support material and services.
- Estimate material and services for bids and potential purchases.
- Update data in approved vendors list.
- Arrange rentals for active jobs and in-house needs.
- Share responsibility for supervising Procurement Driver for material deliveries and pick-up.
- Perform other duties as necessary and appropriate to this position as assigned by Procurement Manager.
- Filing of PO's and all supporting documentation.
- Associates Degree or Equivalent work-related experience.
- Minimum three years of ship repair/building experience with minimum one year buyer experience in the ship repair/builder industry preferred.
- General knowledge of Contractors Purchasing System Review (CPSR) requirements.
- Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) requirements.
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
