Residential Substance Use Counselor-II

Catholic Charities Family and Community Services is seeking a qualified Residential Substance Use Counselor-II to join our team. As a member of our residential program, you will provide essential support services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.
Job Summary:This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to helping individuals achieve recovery and independence. The successful candidate will work under general supervision to provide residential and clinical support services, maintain confidentiality and ethical standards, and ensure a trauma-informed care environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide residential and clinical support services for substance use disorder clients
- Carry a caseload of clients and complete necessary paperwork related to client services
- Provide individual therapy services and responsible for admissions, discharges, and treatment plans
- Count medication for individuals on Medication Assistance Treatment and provide necessary case management
- Communicate with Agency staff, Outpatient Drug treatment providers, and related community organizations to assure coordination of client services
- Work with Program Manager to maintain property and assets inventory list and facilitate monthly housekeeping reports
- Assist clients to meet all requirements for Department of Human Services (DHS) and responsible for life skill programming
- Facilitate life skills education through one-on-one sessions and coordinate schedule of outside speakers
- Communicate with residential team about client and residential community needs for life skills and monitor residents to assure a safe therapeutic environment
- Make weekly house checks and individual weekly one-on-one sessions and document any unusual incidents or situations
- Associate's Degree in Social Work or related Human Services field required
- Valid and clean NYS Drivers License and QHP-CASAC-Trainee, CASAC, LMSW, LCSW, NCCC, LMHC, CRC, RN, or PhD required
- Minimum of two years of experience working with substance use disorder clients or mental health services preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
