Job Title: Prevention Counselor

At the Center for Youth, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Prevention Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing ongoing individual and family counseling to youth and families seeking our services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify issues related to substance use/abuse, problem gambling, and other risk factors inhibiting healthy youth development.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Service Plans based on assessments and goals identified by youth, including prevention activities.
  • Provide short-term counseling and activities to resolve identified problems and assess/improve youth and family risk and protective factors.
  • Deliver crisis intervention, family counseling, and information and referral services as needed.
  • Collaborate with other agencies/providers to coordinate client services and provide community outreach and networking.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, education, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education, employment, and life experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
