Job Summary

Catholic Charities Family and Community Services is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Substance Use Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our residential program, you will provide essential support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide residential and clinical support services to clients, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
  • Carry a caseload of clients, completing necessary paperwork and ensuring compliance with agency and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct individual therapy sessions, facilitate life skills education, and coordinate outside speakers to support program goals.
  • Collaborate with collateral agencies, vocational and educational providers, and community organizations to ensure coordination of client services.
  • Assist clients in meeting Department of Human Services requirements and provide life skill programming, including vocational planning, parenting, and financial literacy.
  • Facilitate recreational activities, ensure a safe therapeutic environment, and participate in on-call schedules as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with residential team members, Program Manager, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless program operations.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Social Work or a related Human Services field.
  • Valid and clean NYS Driver's License.
  • QHP-CASAC-T, CASAC, LMSW, LCSW, NCCC, LMHC, CRC, RN, or PhD required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with substance use disorder clients or mental health services preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
