Position Overview

Job Title: Counter and Inside Sales

Department: Dallas - CED

Role Summary:

This position involves comprehensive training at our designated location before transitioning to a permanent site. As a vital member of our sales team, you will deliver exceptional service through various channels including phone, email, and in-person interactions at the counter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate competitive pricing estimates for contractors.
  • Engage with manufacturers and vendor representatives to gather pricing information.
  • Prepare purchase orders efficiently.
  • Respond to sales inquiries via phone and email promptly.
  • Foster relationships to understand customer requirements effectively.
  • Drive initiatives to meet sales and profitability targets.
  • Support all tasks necessary to uphold outstanding customer service.
  • Additional duties may include receiving, stocking, order fulfillment, and occasional customer deliveries.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Profit Center Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Positive and proactive attitude.

  • Motivated by sales success.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Technical knowledge of electrical products.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of sales experience.

Working Conditions:

Conditions may vary based on the activities required, including warehouse, sales floor, and external environments. Responsibilities may involve lifting (up to 50 lbs.), sorting, standing, and exposure to varying temperatures.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Create sales registers, retrieve materials from the warehouse, and fulfill orders.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter area and displays.
  • Handle sales calls and process orders over the phone.
  • Manage the existing customer base effectively.
  • Achieve established monthly sales objectives.
  • Collaborate with the outside sales team and other departments.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on all customer orders, quotes, and materials.
  • Stay informed about new and existing products and services.
