Position Overview: The Lead Financial Accountant will report directly to the Controller and will oversee key accounting and compliance functions within Exceptional Health Care. This role entails managing cash flow and treasury operations, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger, and facilitating month-end financial closures. The Lead Financial Accountant will also be responsible for reconciling balance sheet accounts and addressing any discrepancies related to general ledger transactions. Furthermore, this position involves reviewing financial statements, conducting variance analyses, and providing ad-hoc financial insights as required.

Key Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
  • Prepare monthly journal entries to accurately reflect revenue, allowances, prepaid expenses, accruals, and depreciation.
  • Analyze balance sheet accounts, revenue streams, and expenditures, completing monthly variance analyses.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including intercompany transactions.
  • Generate monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Assist other departments by providing timely and accurate responses to inquiries.
  • Support the annual budgeting process.
  • Facilitate the annual financial audit and any special audits throughout the year.
  • Cross-train with the Controller to ensure continuity of operations during absences.
  • Adhere to internal financial controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Comply with Exceptional Health Care's policies, including the Compliance Policy and Code of Ethics.
  • Conduct special projects as assigned.
  • Collaborate with other teams to standardize corporate accounting practices.
  • Ensure all departmental functions align with the hospital's mission, vision, and goals.
Supervisory Role:
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the healthcare sector.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capable of interacting tactfully with diverse personnel, including corporate and field operations.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
Work Environment:
This role is performed in a dynamic and professional office setting, requiring close visual acuity for tasks such as data analysis and computer usage.
