Position Overview: We are on the lookout for a skilled and driven individual to become a part of our Accounting team as a Senior Accountant. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of our financial operations and will be based at our north Dallas headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with the Controller and Accounting Manager to accurately record significant financial transactions on a daily basis.
  • Assist in the timely and precise completion of the month-end closing process.
  • Provide backup support for the Staff Accountant's essential duties during their absence.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations and reviews of balance sheet accounts.
  • Work alongside the Controller and Accounting Manager to document purchases and sales related to the investment portfolio.
  • Manage Fixed Assets, including the addition of new assets, monthly depreciation, and annual disposals.
  • Handle Prepaids by adding and reconciling them on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare specialized reports for monthly Board of Directors meetings.
  • Engage closely with the Controller and Accounting Manager to oversee the external financial statement audit and all regulatory examinations.
  • Assist in the preparation of various regulatory reports, including the Quarterly Call Report and semi-annual Federal Reserve reports.
  • Perform other related duties as required by the situation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an accounting environment.
  • Preferred 3-5 years of accounting experience within the banking sector.
  • Comprehensive understanding of banking accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment.
  • Capacity to build and maintain cooperative relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-driven with a strong intellectual curiosity.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with Jack Henry Silverlake general ledger software, Avid Exchange (Bank-Tel), and A3 reporting package is advantageous.
