Qualifications: A High School diploma or GED is required. Candidates must be willing to obtain a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential within the first year of employment and meet Head Start Program Performance Standards. The ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse disabilities and maintain confidentiality is essential. A valid driver's license and current vehicle liability insurance are required. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess a good driving record. Responsibilities include transporting children as assigned and undergoing random drug and alcohol testing as per safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) goals through active participation in daily activities.
  • Engage in developmental screenings for Head Start children.
  • Maintain thorough records and documentation of children's developmental progress.
  • Participate in meetings regarding Head Start children as needed.
  • Assist in securing the non-federal match as required.
  • Attend all staff meetings and training sessions as directed by the supervisor.
  • Provide assistance in Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms when necessary.

Additional Duties: Perform childcare responsibilities as required. Attend IEP/IFSP meetings as requested. Assist with data entry for program records. Promote and support all YFS programs and services. Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Act in accordance with the mission, values, and policies of YFS. Serve as a substitute bus driver and teacher assistant as needed.

Work Environment: Duties will be performed in a controlled office setting and informal environments with various groups of children. Occasional driving may be required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is necessary.
