Qualifications: A High School diploma or GED is required. Candidates must be willing to obtain a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential within the first year of employment and meet Head Start Program Performance Standards. Strong interpersonal skills to work with individuals with diverse disabilities are essential. Confidentiality must be maintained. A valid driver's license and current vehicle liability insurance are mandatory. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess a good driving record. Responsibilities include transporting children as needed and submitting to random drug and alcohol testing as per policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in achieving IEP/IFSP goals through active participation in daily activities.
- Engage in developmental screenings for Head Start children.
- Keep accurate records of children's progress and documentation.
- Participate in meetings regarding Head Start children as required.
- Support the acquisition of non-federal match funding as necessary.
- Attend all staff meetings and training sessions as directed by the supervisor.
- Provide assistance in Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms when required.
Additional Responsibilities: Perform childcare duties as necessary. Attend IEP/IFSP meetings as requested. Assist with data entry for program records. Promote and support all YFS programs and services. Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Uphold the mission, values, and policies of YFS. Serve as a substitute bus driver and teacher assistant when needed.
Work Environment: Duties will be performed in a controlled office setting and informal environments with various groups of children. Occasional driving may be required. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs is necessary.
