Tribology Modeling Engineer

The Drive Systems Engineering team at Tesla is looking for a talented Tribology Modeling Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing tribological models to inform current and future design decisions.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop high-fidelity EIBD system models connected with in-house electromagnetic models
  2. Optimize existing and innovate new EIBD characterization testing equipment and methods
  3. Validate and optimize models through tribometer level and drive unit level characterization testing
  4. Analyze data to find most cost-friendly EIBD mitigation solutions
Requirements
  • Understanding of tribological simulation of various contact mechanics
  • Experience with data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Python)
  • Background in electrical engineering and mechanical engineering
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering a plus

The estimated annual salary range for this role is $116,000 - $204,000, depending on individual factors such as market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
