Senior Mechanical Design Specialist for Next-Generation Hardware

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Specialist to join our team at Tesla. As a key member of our dynamic group, you will play a pivotal role in developing innovative and reliable mechanical solutions for next-generation computer systems.
Salary
The estimated annual salary for this position is $80,000 - $174,000, with competitive pay and opportunities for cash and stock awards.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and model mechanical components and assemblies, including plastic, sheet metal, casting, coldplates, electrical distribution, and other components.
- Conduct mechanical design analysis, including thermal, structural, tolerance, and design for assembly.
- Generate detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and documentation of mechanical designs using CATIA.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, systems, firmware, manufacturing, and test engineers to take designs from prototype through production and deployment.
Collaboration and Teamwork: You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs into the overall system architecture.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design.
- Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA preferred) for 3D modeling and drafting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) tools and simulation software for mechanical analysis (ANSYS preferred).
- Familiarity with PCBAs and electronics packaging.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform first principles analysis to ensure a successful design.
