Job Title: Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at the King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in leading and managing the culinary operations, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Chef in menu development, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Supervise and train culinary staff to ensure consistent quality and adherence to hotel standards.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory, ordering supplies, and managing kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Food and Beverage to ensure profitability and guest satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Lead Cook or Kitchen Manager in a hotel or restaurant setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of an industry-recognized culinary school preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ability to make timely, effective decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate work assignments, and maintain good team member relations.
