Job Summary:

The Central Connecticut Coast YMCA is seeking a skilled Day Camp Program Specialist to join our team. As a Day Camp Program Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging and educational programs for children at our seasonal day camp. You will maintain a supportive and positive atmosphere, promoting safe conditions and building relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement program plans, ensuring alignment with YMCA guidelines and policies.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment, adhering to YMCA safety protocols and procedures.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with campers, parents, and colleagues, promoting a sense of community and belonging.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Participate in mandatory meetings and training sessions, staying up-to-date on YMCA policies and procedures.

Requirements:
  • At least one year of experience in implementing camp programs, preferably in a senior counselor or specialty director role.
  • Current certifications in CPR, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work with and relate to school-age children, teens, and peers.
  • Strong communication, supervision, and organizational skills.
