Key Responsibilities- Prepare and fill routine orders for prescribed medications, adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
- Restock automated dispensing machines and maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Repackage medications and compound both sterile and non-sterile medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Participate in the exchange of information with healthcare professionals and staff to ensure safe medication management.
- Contribute to the achievement of established department goals and objectives, adhering to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards.
- Ensure medications are properly and safely stored throughout the hospital, adhering to laws, regulations, and hospital policies.
- Participate in the evaluation of the hospital's medication management system for risk points and identify areas to improve safety.
- Safely and accurately prepare all medications in the most ready to administer form, using proper techniques, calculations, and precautions.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of an approved/accredited Pharmacy Technician training program preferred.
- 1 year 6 months related pharmacy technician experience and hospital environment experience preferred.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Board of Pharmacy required; Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification within 180 Days required.
