Job Summary

This role is with CNA, a leading insurance company that utilizes RippleMatch to find top talent. We are seeking an Underwriting Associate - Middle Market to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under broad supervision, responsible for underwriting risk for the underwriting lifecycle from submission through policy issuance, for both renewal and new business within limited authority.
  • Partner with Underwriters on all aspects of the Underwriting function, including providing necessary information to allow for UW to make prudent underwriting decisions.
  • Perform a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines, including underwriting analysis and documentation, handling endorsement requests, and working as a liaison within the branch or across CNA to resolve issues.
  • Document assigned files ensuring completeness, compliance, and quality, and execute on advanced pricing strategy on behalf of the Underwriter.
  • Complete quote proposals and negotiate with external partners within assigned authority, and serve as the first-line point of contact to the producers/customers on account related matters.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Typically a minimum of three years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of Property and Casualty underwriting, including insurance products, policy processing procedures, and documentation.
  • Strong time management, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners.
  • Strong capability to advise and coach others, and demonstrated customer service experience.
