Job Overview

SUMMARY:

The Production Associate plays a vital role in supporting the operations of our retail environment. This position involves assisting donors and customers with respect and professionalism. Responsibilities include helping donors unload their contributions, organizing merchandise, and ensuring that items are prepared for sale.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assess donated goods for quality and categorize them appropriately for pricing and distribution.
  2. Prepare and maintain clothing racks, bins, and other display items for the retail space.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  1. Welcome donors promptly and courteously; assist in unloading donations, provide tax receipts, and keep accurate donor records.
  2. Ensure the store and processing areas are clean and organized, returning items to their designated locations and performing general housekeeping tasks.
  3. Accurately hang clothing, apply price tags, and arrange merchandise on the sales floor according to established standards.
  4. Contribute to achieving the store's production and sales objectives.
  5. Meet sorting and pricing productivity benchmarks as outlined in operational procedures.
  6. Propose enhancements to workflow and job tasks to management.
  7. Support inventory security by monitoring customer activity to prevent theft.
  8. Participate in required meetings and training sessions.
  9. Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
  10. Maintain acceptable attendance and adhere to personal grooming and dress standards, including wearing company-issued identification.
  11. Collaborate with management and team members to ensure timely processing of donations.
  12. Exhibit exemplary work habits, fostering a respectful and positive environment for colleagues and individuals receiving support services.
  13. Follow safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the work area, reporting any incidents immediately.
  14. Uphold confidentiality regarding organizational matters and individuals receiving services.
  15. Assist in additional areas as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience in retail or handling second-hand goods is advantageous.
  2. Familiarity with a diverse range of products to ensure quality and value.
  3. Ability to make prompt decisions regarding the condition of merchandise.
  4. Possess a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  5. Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English, along with fundamental math skills.
  6. Capable of following both written and verbal instructions.
  7. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  8. Open to transferring to different locations as required.
  9. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  10. Skilled in building and maintaining effective working relationships with supervisors, colleagues, customers, and donors.
  11. Maintain a positive attitude and present a neat, professional appearance.
  12. Provide support to individuals with disabilities or disadvantages, aiding in their rehabilitation process.

  • Ability to lift at least 30 pounds and stand for extended periods; frequent bending, reaching, and stretching during shifts.

  • Meet daily production targets, processing 700 items or generating $1,500 in sales as per established standards.
