About the Role

The City of Milwaukee Wisconsin is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the position of Police Officer Trainee/Law Enforcement Support Specialist. As a Police Officer Trainee, you will play a vital role in supporting the City's law enforcement efforts and contributing to the safety and well-being of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the administration of law enforcement activities, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
  • Provide support to sworn police officers, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and performing other tasks as assigned.
  • Participate in training programs and educational activities to develop skills and knowledge in law enforcement procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with other City departments and agencies to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 17 years old and no more than 20 years old on the starting date of the Police Officer Trainee program.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have been a lawful permanent resident for at least five years.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be physically able to perform the duties of the position, including standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Must pass a background investigation and medical examination.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in law enforcement or a related field.
  • Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
